Our Easy Low-Carb Sesame Chicken Recipe

This recipe features tender pieces of chicken coated in a thick, sticky sauce flavored with soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. The chutney has just a touch of sweetness. Just before serving, the dish is sprinkled with additional chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

What do I serve with Low-Carb Sesame Chicken?

Til chicken is usually served with rice. While a mountain of rice doesn’t work on a low-carbohydrate diet, you can still enjoy this recipe.

I adore placing this dish over a bed of steamed broccoli, fried cauliflower rice, or cauliflower rice. Green beans pair well with it as well.

Our Simple Low-Carb Sesame Chicken Recipe can also be spooned over large lettuce leaves to create lettuce wraps, which is another low-carb alternative.

Avoid tampering with lettuce wraps. Nothing is wrong. Create a side salad with lettuce. This recipe would be ideal with a side salad.

My top three Chinese culinary favorites are sesame chicken. A meal made with soya, garlic, ginger, and sesame is unquestionably crave-worthy.

It’s a favorite, so I wanted to create a low-carb variation so I could still enjoy it without going over my carbohydrate requirements.

Can I Eat Sesame Chicken on the Keto Diet?

In most cases, cracking and frying the chicken is how sesame chicken is prepared in restaurants. A lot of sugar, or even honey, is present in the sauce. The average restaurant dish is too high in carbs for someone following a keto or low-carb diet to eat more than a few bites because of the amount of sugar in it and the wheat flour that was used to bread the chicken.

For those following a low-carb, ketogenic diet, this recipe eliminates both the breading and the sugar.

Sesame Chicken: How Healthful Is It?

A quality protein source is sesame chicken. Both ginger and garlic are good for you. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties, and garlic is believed to help the body detoxify.

Unfortunately, the restaurant’s variety of sesame chicken not only contains sugar but also dyes already.
